B&R with ASEAN
The textile industry has long been a traditional advantage in Jiangsu, supplying various textile products to the ASEAN market for many years. On April 30th, a shipment of nonwoven fabrics from Dongli High-tech Polymerization (Nantong) Co., Ltd. arrived in Malaysia. Prior to export, this batch of nonwoven fabric successfully obtained the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (FTA) certificate of origin from customs. With this certificate, the batch, valued at approximately 240,000 yuan, is expected to receive tariff concessions of around 48,000 yuan in the destination country. In the first quarter of this year alone, the company applied to Nantong Customs for 78 China-ASEAN certificates of origin, with a visa amount exceeding 17.1 million yuan.
Export of traditional advantageous products is in full swing, while emerging sectors like biomedicine and artificial intelligence are gaining traction among ASEAN consumers. On April 25th, Wuxi Bohuis Bio-medical Science and Technology Co., Ltd., located in Wuxi Hi-tech Development Zone, successfully exported a batch of glycated hemoglobin test cards to Thailand through Wuxi Customs. In support of Jiangsu's biopharmaceutical industry's expansion into international markets, Wuxi Customs has focused on facilitating customs clearance, optimizing quarantine approval processes, and strengthening risk classification management to ensure safe and efficient customs clearance, addressing critical points in the enterprise's supply chain and production chain.
Simultaneously, economic and trade exchanges between Jiangsu and ASEAN are extending to the entire industry chain, including the supply of raw materials and equipment. On April 25th, a rubber chemical trading company in Jiangsu successfully cleared customs for a shipment of 315 tons of mixed rubber imported from Vietnam through Nanjing Customs. Rubber, as a vital industrial raw material, finds wide application in tires, seals, shock absorbers, and more. With China's economy focusing on high-quality development, demand for rubber in the market continues to rise. General Manager Wu Dongyi remarked, "Since the beginning of this year, our company has imported a total of 21,600 tons of mixed rubber from Vietnam, valued at 30.7 million U.S. dollars, marking a 128.4% and 138.9% year-on-year increase, respectively."
In efforts to facilitate enterprises' international trade endeavors, Nanjing Customs has tailored personalized customs clearance programs based on ASEAN market demands and specific products. These programs aim to guide enterprises in optimizing benefits, enhancing their sense of accessibility, reducing operating costs, and fostering continued growth in Jiangsu-ASEAN trade and cooperation. Collaboration between Jiangsu and ASEAN is on the rise.
